about

Tallhome is my third album, and also my shortest. With existential songs which ponder about the nature of space and how we're a blue marble in space, ("Big Rock") to songs about doubt and pretending to be someone you're not, ("No Stranger") to songs about fantasies and wanting to live out certain dreams, ("We All Live In The Swamp") Tallhome is a collection of thoughts portrayed by soft ukulele instrumentals, solo electric guitars, dreamy elec. pianos, and fuzzy choirs.

Most tracks on this album were written either on a road trip across Canada I did, (i.e Big Rock, No Stranger) During the summer of 2021, (i.e We All Live In The Swamp, Pray It's Alright) Or Autumn 2020, and only recorded now. (i.e The Obelisk, Therapy Song, Holy War, Soil, Heartache) Most of these songs are from that period of time. I was living in a different house than my old on for 6 months. (October 2020-April 2021) I wasn't in the greatest of places then, but I wish I was so I could've appreciated the house more. But I wrote a lot of songs around then so its nice to have some memories of that house and my state around then.

These songs were recorded from the period of Late August - Late October of 2021, usually mixed on the same day or re-recorded. The only exception Is The Obelisk, which was recorded back in November 2020 and then mixed in the backseat of a car driving through Alberta.
